In May 1935 Beaverton Pharmacy opened. Having a Greyhound bus stop, a soda fountain, and a pharmacy it quickly became a central hub for the town. We have always striven to be a part of our neighborhood, and evolve to meet its needs.

Nowadays you won't find a soda jerk behind the counter, just jerks. Not really. You will, however, find compassionate people who have years of helping folks find the right medical equipment, gifts, and medicine.

 

As one of the last independent pharmacies in the state, our dedication to personal service and unique goods allows us to exist alongside the big box and internet brands. Many customers in their 70's and 80's who once came as children for a soda still shop with us for gifts and necessary medical equipment. Many of our new customers learn about us from doctor recommendations

Fortunately you don't have to be ill or hurt to visit us, we have a large gift section that gets regularly rotated with unique and seasonal products. We prominently carry Willow Tree figurines and Melissa and Doug toys. We carry multiple greeting card lines including the Designer Greetings brand that is always half priced.

In addition to knowledgeable staff with decades of experience, we offer services that are hard to find elsewhere. We compound medications to your doctor's specification and employ equipment specialists who can outfit you with braces for all parts of the body or guide you to the best choice of safety equipment for your home. Our selection of medical goods is second to none. Bathroom safety, wound care, compression garments, and incontinence supplies are regularly stocked.

The owners of Beaverton Pharmacy, Wade and Jennifer Irby, both play daily roles in the operation of the Pharmacy. Wade comes from a family with a multi-generational history of operating independent Pharmacies. While Wade is filling prescriptions and helping customers, Jennifer manages daily operations and curates the gift department.

Wade graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1996 with a degree in pharmacy. In addition serving as President of the New Mexico Pharmacy Association, Wade has won multiple awards such as Innovative Pharmacist of the Year and Distinguished Young Pharmacist.

Jennifer retired from teaching music after 15 years to become the pharmacy manager. Wade and Jennifer have five children, with one still at home. They enjoy all kinds of music and theater.
